In 2013 The Wheat Ridge Police Department reintroduced the Explorer Scout Program. Post 6901 was so numbered to honor the badge number of Jack Bramble. Jack Bramble was the interim Chief of Police for the City of Wheat Ridge, when the police department was established. Bramble was a volunteer who was dedicated to public service. Chief Bramble exemplified the values that the Explorers follow.
The Explorer Scout program consists of youth ages 14-20 years old who are interested in learning about Law Enforcement as a career. The Explorer program affords area youth the chance to get real world police knowledge, leadership experience, and provide community service.
The Explorers participate in an academy designed to provide them basic Law Enforcement Skills. The Explorers then assist the department and community to earn ride-a-long hours with our patrol officers.
