The Wheat Ridge Police Department Communications Center is usually the first point of contact for citizens needing police, fire, or medical services through 9-1-1 or non-emergency telephone lines.
The Communications Center also processes calls for Code Enforcement and Animal Control within the City of Wheat Ridge.
Please adhere to the following guidelines when placing a 9-1-1 call:
Only call 9-1-1 for emergencies involving an immediate threat to persons or property
Please do not hang up until the 9-1-1 dispatcher answers your call as your telephone information will still enter the 9-1-1 system, even if you mistakenly call 9-1-1
Please be ready to give the dispatcher your location, telephone number, and information concerning your emergency so they can determine the best way to assist you
Please answer all questions asked and follow all instructions given by the dispatcher. Dispatchers are trained to assist you in any emergency
