The Wheat Ridge Police Department holds a community event for National Night Out Against Crime at Wheat Ridge City Hall. This event is to allow the community to come to the Police Department to meet officers, tour the Police Department, and visit booths staffed by the SWAT Team, CSI personnel and Crime Prevention. A variety of food and snacks are available to the public free of charge.
In conjunction with the Police Department's event, the Police Department asks that Neighborhood Watch groups, Homeowners Associations, Rental Properties, and other community organizers to host events on the actual day of National Night Out. Members of the Police Department will be available to attend these events as requested by the organizers.
Save the Date
This year, National Night Out is scheduled for August 1 at Hayward Park (7500 W 29th Ave).
Dog Walker Watch Program Signup
National Night Out is the best place to sign up for the PD's new Dog Walker Watch Program! We are enlisting residents' help spotting crime as they go on their daily neighborhood walk with their pet. Members will attend a one hour class on August 7 and, upon completion, their dog will become an honorary Wheat Ridge PD K9. Check out the coverage of the program on 9News.
