    The Wheat Ridge Police Department (WRPD) has set the dates for the annual Wheat Ridge TLC Neighborhoods Clean Up Days program that offers roll-off dumpsters to help residents clean up the community. Trash, recyclables and yard waste are acceptable at the following locations between 8 a.m. – noon unless bins fill up prior to that time. Residents are encouraged to drop trash, recycling and yard debris early (Check the website for items that are excluded): http://www.ci.wheatridge.co.us/243/Code-Enforcement

    WRPD is hosting a free course in personal safety. Participants will learn how to increase awareness, avoid dangerous situations, and prevent criminal confrontation. Refuse To Be A Victim is an award-winning crime prevention program offering tips and techniques for recognizing dangerous situations and how to avoid becoming a victim. Topics include: – Mental Preparedness – Home Security – Travel Security – Physical Security – Psychology of Criminals – Automotive Security – Cyber Security – Personal Defense Devices – Self Defense Training Register Here: https://wrpdrefusetobeavictimaugust19.eventbrite.com Space is limited, so register early. Coffee and pastries will be provided, as well as lunch. Participants must be at least 16 years of age to attend. There is no discussion of firearms or gun ownership. This is also not a self defense class. The seminar is focused solely on crime prevention education.
