Q: If I attend traffic school before my initial court date, will I still need to appear for court?
Wheat Ridge Municipal Court does not offer the option of taking a class as a substitute for your court date. It is possible that the Court will order a class as part of sentencing.
3.
Q: What if my driver’s license is suspended for non payment of a ticket?
If Wheat Ridge Municipal Court has placed a hold on your license, you may call the main court number at (303) 235-2835 to get the exact amount due to clear the hold on your license. This amount may be paid with cash, money order, cashiers check, or VISA/MASTERCARD (with Photo I.D.). Payment may be made at Wheat Ridge Municipal Court, 7500 W 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.

5.
Q: Do I have to appear for my court date for my traffic violation if I am going to just pay the fine noted on the summons?
No, provided there is an early payment discount written on the summons. Payment must be received prior to your court date.
6.
Q: Is there a chance of reducing my points or charges?
If your appearance in court is mandatory and there is not an early payment discount offer on the ticket, an offer may be provided by the Assistant City Attorney. The Assistant City Attorney is not required to make a plea offer.
7.
Q: What if my ticket is for no proof of insurance? **Link to form**
Insurance cards are not accepted at the clerks’ office or in Court. The proof that you had/have insurance must be faxed directly to us from your insurance company. Our fax number is (303) 235-2829. The fax information should include your name, ticket number, vin number of the vehicle in question, and state the effective date and time of the policy. In addition, it must state that the defendant was a covered driver under the policy.
