Overview
The Wheat Ridge Police Department believes in working in partnership with the media to provide the community with timely, clear, concise, and factual public safety information. The Wheat Ridge Police Department has one designated Public Information Officer (PIO) who responds to media inquiries.
Responsibilities
The Police Department PIO:
- Is the lead spokesperson and primary media contact for the Police Department
- Is available by phone or pager 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to media inquiries and requests for interviews
- May set up interviews with other members of the Police Department upon request, pending availability
Tip Lines
From time to time the Police Department will set up a tip line to help gather information on particularly large scale or complex investigations. The tip line is only checked for messages when it is activated for an investigation. When activated, the Wheat Ridge Police Department tip line is (303) 235-2947.
