Colorado Law requires persons convicted of certain sex crimes to register with the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction where they reside. An annual registration is required on the offender’s birthday. Adults convicted of certain specific sexual offenses are required to register every three months as well.

The Patrol Division conducts ongoing checks to ensure that sex offenders are in compliance with the law and actually live where they have registered. Failure to register as required is a crime that is investigated and vigorously prosecuted.
