Community Advisory Group

The Wheat Ridge Police Department is committed to a philosophy of community policing, which includes a commitment to engage our community in a collaborative effort to address the issues of crime, traffic, and quality of life in an effort to make Wheat Ridge a safer community in which to live, work, and play.

WRPD’s Community Advisory Group was formed to provide a forum for open dialogue regarding community policing strategies and community issues. It is intended to increase community engagement in programs that will make our community safer, while discussing trends in law enforcement, and increasing public awareness of the department.

Interested community members must live in Wheat Ridge, complete an application, and consent to a background check. Qualified applicants will be invited to an interview will Chief Murtha as the final step in the process. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the police department 7500 W. 29th Ave. in Wheat Ridge and a light dinner is served.
