Responsibilities
Community Development is responsible for:
- Leading the programs and activities of the following divisions:
- Developing and administering city and department policies
- Preparing and administering annual department budget
- Directing the preparation of special plans or studies
- Overseeing the work of consultants
- Providing staff support to City Council and Boards and Commissions
- Developing communications / marketing materials that communicate the work of the department to the Community
- Empowering division managers to successfully manage the priority services of their division
- Representing the city in public outreach event opportunities and at regional forums
- Collaborating and coordinating with other departments, outside service providers, adjacent municipalities and regional and state agencies
