Partnership With The Community

The City of Wheat Ridge and the Wheat Ridge Police Department are committed to developing a partnership with the community. We recognize that citizen volunteers can be an important part of the organization and are a valuable asset. Volunteers serving in the Police Department are vital for us to provide a high level of service to members of the community. Volunteers are needed to support the Mission and Vision of the police department and become one of the exceptional people providing exceptional service within the organization.

Your volunteer position will give you an opportunity to contribute to the Police Department, the City of Wheat Ridge and the community as a whole. Your service within the Police Department will also give you a much more personal and informed perspective on the Police Department, its personnel and the services the department provides.

The Police Department will consider volunteer applicants who:
  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have no felony convictions
  • Have no domestic violence convictions
  • Are not registered sex offenders
  • Can pass a background investigation check
  • Provide a copy of a Driver license with Volunteer Application
