COVID-19 Update - May 7, 2020

Jefferson County Public Health’s Stay-at-Home order expires tomorrow and the county will transition to the state’s Safer-at-Home order on Saturday, May 9. While additional businesses will be allowed to open with precautions in place, the Safer-at-Home order encourages everyone to continue staying at home and to telework as much as possible.

Therefore, Wheat Ridge City Hall will remain closed to public access until Monday, June 1 and staff will continue providing essential services online and by phone. This closure extension will provide City staff with the necessary time to prepare for a safe opening of City Hall for employees and the public, unless extended by a public health order. Municipal Court will be providing limited court proceedings during this time, practicing safe social distancing practices and conducting health screenings.

In addition, under the Governor’s order, the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, Anderson Building and Active Adult Center will remain closed until we receive further direction from the state. A new virtual Recreation Center has been created https://bit.ly/WRVirtualRec , and more information will be released on the RootedinFun.com website and on social media about summer special events, programs, camps and Anderson Pool.

Please refer to the COVID-19 page on the City website http://bit.ly/WRCOVID-19 as well as updates available on the Jefferson County Public Health website https://www.jeffco.us for additional details.

I continue to be so proud of our community and all you are doing to support each other during this crisis.

Please stay well,
Patrick Goff, Wheat Ridge City Manager
